Punxsutawney Phil may have seen his shadow, forecasting another 6 weeks of winter – but this is no reflection of the heat of new developments happening in and around Winslow.
Dough Mama’s, will be serving delicious pizza pies, made to order in a traditional oven. This location is set to be a hit, with an ample outdoor seating area directly on Historic Route 66. Set to open in the next few months. Just a block or so to the west, the already popular new venue Olde Towne Grill, is working on a wonderful outdoor seating area, to be available in in the same timeline.
We all waved at the humungous Graceland Shed’s float during the Christmas Parade – this national organization is well on their way to complete their factory in Winslow, by mid-summer. This organization brings up to 50 jobs and will certainly have an economic impact on the region.
Additionally, there is a remodel for one of our truck stops, and another national truck stop is looking to build a new location here in town. A new hotel has already broken ground and should be completed by the end of the year.
La Posada just did an incredible remodel and upgrade to their bar, all hand made by local artists. It is a stunning new addition to an already stellar historic location in our community. Nearby, a new tea shop / unique gift store, just opened adjacent to the Post Office – Blackgoat Connection. Across from Relic Brewing, the Nutrition Spot has recently set up shop.
A bit farther out in the timeline, several housing options are in the process of build out or permitting, as well as a new rodeo, which should be up and running by this summer. Numerous events are in the planning stages, and I am receiving calls daily with inquiries with business ideas, large and small, looking to make Winslow their new home, including pubs, tattoo parlors, manufacturing facilities, and more!
