Art of course can also be that of photography, poetry, music, dance…a diverse array of media can all be included into this definition. Though the description may sound a bit abstract or obtuse, the need for engaging our arts communities throughout Northern Arizona, is a must.
With that said, there are a variety of events coming up during 2022, where we are seeking artists. Those who can paint, weld, work with clay, design jewelry, sculpt, sketch, and generally be creative, the more mediums represented, the better. The City of Winslow is also looking for those who can create murals or those with an expressive style able to incorporate large structures into their design.
Perhaps you are a metalsmith, or work with glass blowing or throwing clay, not only are we interested in hearing from you for upcoming events, we would also like to gather information on any artist who would be interested in a cooperative space. A location where you could work, get inspiration, provide education, sell your creativity and network with other like-minded souls. A future Arts & Cultural Venue is on our wish list, and something which could become a reality sooner, rather than later, if we knew there were interested artists in the community. Those who could make such a co-op come alive.
The Southwest is a magical place, filled with vast spaces and great beauty, a location to inspire creativity. Let’s collaboratively make a point to promote and market our many gifted individuals, supporting these businesses in any way we can.
